UPDATE:

Here are a few new things to note for the 2011-2012 Awana year:

  • The last Sunday of every month, starting in October, we will be having a monthly Awards Ceremony to recognize the accomplishments and progress of the clubbers.  This will be held during Olympic Bible Fellowship’s Sunday Morning  Service (10:45) and will be specifically for clubbers of families who already attend OBF or for clubbers of families who are not attending another church.  If you already attend another church, but would like to see your child recognized once a month, you are more than welcome to attend.
  • 5th and 6th graders take note:  Awana Headquarters has made some changes.  They have come out with a new cool Jersey uniform for you guys as well as new awards and new books.  What was Ultimate Adventures Handbook 3 & 4 is now Ultimate Challenge 1 & 2.  We are not making these changes mandatory unless you are brand new to Awana.  If you have a gray or green uniform already, you can choose whether or not to purchase the new Jersey uniform.  They will be $15.  You can put the new awards on either uniform.  And if you are still in Ultimate Adventures Book 1 or 2, you can choose to stay in that book until you finish it, or you can start Ultimate Challenge Book 1.  As you can see, we are leaving you with lots of choices and flexibility.  We just wanted you to be aware of the new things that are going on.  Please let us know what you choose at the check-in table on Sunday night.  For more info, check out this website: http://awana.org/awana-clubs/tt-home,default,pg.html
Thanks so much & looking forward to seeing you tomorrow night at 5:45!

Next Sunday, September 18th, at 5:45, Awana starts up again for the school year. If you would like to help with that, please let Jed know. Specifically, we are in need of a Cubbie Director and another Sparks Leader.

Sunday, September 25th, is the deadline for early bird registration for the Awana Conference, which will be on Saturday, October 15th. Please see Jed for more info.

Olympic Bible Fellowship’s Awana Club will be starting up for another year of fun on September 18!  (Yes, it normally does start the Sunday after school starts, but in listening to parents we decided to wait another week to give families a chance to settle into the school routine.)

Please see theAwana Calendar Handout 2011-2012 to find out more.  Also attached is the Awana Permission Form 2011-2012.  If you could print, fill out and bring that with you on the 18th, that would help the registration process flow more smoothly on that day.  (Thank you for your patience on opening night as it can be a little crazy getting everyone registered :)

Here is what is happening in September:

  • September 18 – Opening Night of Awana 5:45-7:30.  (Please note that 5:45 is when Awana actually starts so please come early to register.)
  • September 23 Youth Group (for Middle school and High school) at the Hays, 394 Kirner Road, from 7:00-8:30
  • September 25 – Awana; Fun Theme – Inside Out and Backwards
  • September 30 Youth Group

If you have any questions, please don’t hesitate to call us at 360-457-5199.
