Jeanne Louise Smith was born September 19, 1923, in Illinois to Gilbert and Louise Zeiss. She married George Hirsch, moved to Southern California and had two daughters, Jill and Jenny, in the 1950s.
Jeanne married Robert Smith in 1972 and welcomed a third daughter, Rita, to the family.
Jeanne was a hard-working, loving, fun, caring mother, wife and friend.
Jeanne gave her heart to her Lord Jesus as a mother of teens, and she lived her life trying to bring honor to him. She volunteered with love and dedication at local hospitals and convalescent homes.
Throughout her life, she befriended those in need.
Jeanne and Bob moved to Sequim in 1991. As a team, they volunteered at Habitat for Humanity and worshipped and were very active in various ministries at Olympic Bible Fellowship, where they met many dear and dedicated friends.
Jeanne was a loyal and cherished friend to many. Her family was her treasure. She is survived by her husband of 39 years, Robert “Bob” Smith; daughters Jill Jenkinson (Peter), Jenny Fagundes (Wayne) and Rita Vindal (James); her sister, Nancy Kemp (Mel); granddaughters Jennifer Brazil (Nicholas), Kymberly Day (Chris) and Erin Lichens (Joseph); grandsons Jayson Jenkinson (Grace), Ben Jenkinson and Colton Fagundes; her great-grandchildren, Skyler Ryan Day, Faith Day, Skyler Ashton Jenkinson, Alexis and Natalie Brazil, Spencer Martin and Aiden Lichens; and many loved nieces and nephews.
Preceding her in death were her parents and dearly loved aunt and uncle, Fred and Glenrose Kelley.
Jeanne loved the Lord and was greatly loved by her family and friends, and she will greatly and deeply be missed.

In lieu of flowers, gifts may be given in Jeanne’s name to the Awana program at Olympic Bible Fellowship, 261913 U.S. Highway 101, Sequim, WA 98382.

A memorial service will be held at Olympic Bible Fellowship, 261913 U.S. Highway 101, Sequim, on Saturday, December 17, 2011, at 11 a.m.
